Walpack Township Committee Meeting Minutes:
January 29, 2008
The
meeting of the Walpack Township Committee was called to order at 8:00 p.m. by
Mayor Fuller who stated that this meeting was being held in compliance with the
Open Public Meetings Act having been duly advertised.
Present
were: Committeeman Heigis, Maglio
and Mayor Fuller
The
clerk read the minutes of the January 1, 2008 reorganization meeting.
Committeeman Maglio made a motion to approve the minutes seconded by
Committeeman Heigis and unanimously carried.
The
committee reviewed the vouchers. Committeeman
Heigis made a motion to approve the vouchers seconded by Committeeman Maglio and
unanimously carried. The following

An
ordinance to exceed the municipal budget appropriation limits and to establish a
cap bank was read by Mayor Fuller. Mayor
Fuller made a motion to approve the ordinance seconded by Committeeman Maglio
and unanimously carried. The
ordinance will be advertised and have a public hearing at the next monthly
meeting to be held February 26, 2008.
Mayor
Fuller signed the Firefighting Service Agreement with Sandyston Township
Volunteer Fire Department for the year 2008.
The agreement is in the amount of $2,500.
The
committee reviewed the correspondence.
Ms.
Pat Kibildis, Program Development Specialist, from the Municipal Alliance
Program came forward to explain the Alliance Program.
Walpack, Montague, and Sandyston are grouped together.
Every four years a needs assessment must be completed.
Each municipality must supply a representative to attend two meetings of
approximately two hours. If a
township chooses not to participate, the funding will no longer be issued to
that township. The meetings will
take place before the end of February. Committeeman
Heigis volunteered to be the representative for Walpack.
The committee thanked Ms. Kibildis for attending the meeting.
There
being no one in attendance and no further business to discuss, Committeeman
Maglio made a motion to adjourn the meeting seconded by Committeeman Heigis.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:21 p.m.
