Walpack Township Committee Meeting Minutes:

February 24, 2009

  The meeting of the Walpack Township Committee was called to order at 8 p.m. by Mayor Fuller who stated this meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act having been duly advertised.

Present were:  Mayor Fuller, Deputy Mayor Maglio, and Committeeman Heigis

Also in attendance:  Virginia Fuller, Michelle LaStarza

The minutes of the January 27, 2009 meeting were presented for approval.  Deputy Mayor Maglio made a motion to approve the minutes seconded by Committeeman Heigis and unanimously carried.

Mayor Fuller made a motion to approve the vouchers for payment seconded by Committeeman Heigis and unanimously carried.  The following bills were approved for payment:

Ordinance 2009-01 an ordinance for recycling was introduced for second reading by Mayor Fuller.  Deputy Mayor Maglio made a motion to open the meeting to the floor for comment on the ordinance seconded by Committeeman Heigis.  There being no one in attendance, Committeeman Heigis made a motion to close the meeting to the floor seconded by Deputy Mayor Maglio.  Committeeman Heigis made a motion to adopt the ordinance seconded by Deputy Mayor Maglio.  

A roll call vote followed:  Ayes:  Heigis, Maglio, Fuller  Nays: 0  Abstain: 0  Absent: 0

Ordinance 2009-02 an ordinance to exceed the municipal budget appropriation limits and to establish a cap was introduced for second reading by Mayor Fuller.   Deputy Mayor Maglio made a motion to open the meeting to the floor for comment on the ordinance seconded by Committeeman Heigis.  There being no one in attendance, Committeeman Heigis made a motion to close the meeting to the floor seconded by Deputy Mayor Maglio.  Mayor Fuller made a motion to adopt the ordinance seconded by Committeeman Heigis.  

A roll call vote followed:  Ayes:  Heigis, Maglio, Fuller  Nays:  0  Absent:  0  Abstain:   0 

The committee reviewed the correspondence.

There being no one in attendance and no further business to discuss, Committeeman Heigis made a motion to close the meeting seconded by Deputy Mayor Maglio.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
