Michelle LaStarza informed the committee the budget has not been approved by the State as of the end of business.  Michelle LaStarza explained there was a difference in the budget of $56 due to the reduction in the Garden State Fund.  There will be a special meeting in June to adopt the budget.  A date has not been determined yet.  There was no comment from the public.

Maureen Theese, Sussex County Board of Health came forward to inform the committee she has been reassigned to Walpack Township.  Ms. Theese has visited the campground and left instructions for the owner to contact her as soon as possible.  The owner has not responded.  The campground needs to repair the fencing around the swimming pool and correct the pool drain.  The pool must also be closed when the manager is not on the property.  Ms. Theese will be inspecting the Walpack Inn and the Delaware View House in the near future.  The committee thanked Ms. Theese for attending the meeting.

Ordinance 2009-03 Copy Fee Ordinance was read in full by Mayor Fuller.  Mayor Fuller made a motion to approve the reading of the ordinance seconded by Committeeman Heigis and unanimously carried.  A roll call vote followed:  Ayes:  Heigis, Maglio, Fuller  Nays: 0  Abstain: 0  Absent: 0  The ordinance will be advertised and have a public hearing on June 30, 2009.

Michelle LaStarza informed the committee that the state is requesting payroll taxes be paid monthly.  Currently Walpack employees are paid quarterly.  After a brief discussion, Mayor Fuller made a motion to approve payroll on a monthly basis beginning in June.  Committeeman Maglio seconded the motion and unanimously carried.

The resolution for the liquor license renewal will be heard at the special meeting along with the budget sometime in June.

The committee reviewed the correspondence.  Committeeman Heigis will attend a meeting in June with Sandyston Township officials and county road representatives regarding a possible road closure. The main bridge in the Village of Layton is set to be repaired sometime in July.

There being no one in attendance and no further business to discuss, Deputy Mayor Maglio made a motion to close the meeting seconded by Committeeman Heigis.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Betsy M. Cuneo
