Walpack Township Committee Meeting Minutes:
December 18, 2012
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Maglio who stated this meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Public Meeting Act having been duly advertised.
Present were: Mayor Maglio, Committeeman Pagano and Committeeman Heigis
Also in attendance: Michelle LaStarza
The minutes for the November 27, 2012 meeting were presented for approval. Committeeman Heigis made a motion to approve the minutes seconded by Committeeman Pagano and unanimously carried.
The committee reviewed the treasurer’s report and vouchers. Committeeman Heigis made a motion to approve the report and vouchers seconded by Committeeman Pagano and unanimously carried. The following bills were approved for payment:

Michelle LaStarza presented preliminary figures for the 2013 budget. An increase is needed in the following line items: recycling, interlocal for 911 dispatch services, and audit services.
Mayor Maglio read the following resolution into the record. Mayor Maglio made a motion to approve the resolution seconded by Committeeman Pagano and unanimously carried.

TRANSFER RESOLUTION

WHEREAS,
N.J.S.A. 40A:4-58 permits appropriation transfers to be made during the last two months of the fiscal year, and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to transfer appropriations between line items presently located in the Current Fund Budget;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the governing body of the Township of Walpack, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey that the following transfers be made.

Mayor Maglio read the following resolution into the record. Mayor Maglio made a motion to approve the resolution seconded by Committeeman Pagano and unanimously carried.
Walpack Township Resolution
WHEREAS, the Township of Walpack has adopted a “Minimum and Maximum Salary and Wage Ordinance, and
WHEREAS, the Township of Walpack wishes to establish salaries and wage for the year, 2013, within the minimum and maximum of its ordinance,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Committee of the Township of Walpack, County of Sussex, State of New Jersey, that the following employees and officials shall receive the compensation herein set forth, effective January 1, 2013 and each year thereafter, until amended or repealed. Salaries are hereby established and fixed as the salary to be paid to the officers, and positions of employees, might otherwise be entitled, except, however, which may be payable by law, or which otherwise may be properly authorized to be paid by this resolution, or another resolution of the Township Committee to wit:

The committee reviewed the correspondence.
Mayor Maglio made a motion to open the meeting to the floor seconded by Committeeman Heigis. Mr. Tom Horsefield came forward to question the committee regarding the possibility of storing a large saw currently located in an area where it is no longer secure. Mr. Horsefield questioned the ownership of Flatbrookville Fire Department. Research will be conducted to determine ownership. If the building is not available, Mr. Horsefield would like to store the saw at the Municipal Building in Walpack Center. The committee agreed it would be possible. Mr. Horsefield thanked the committee.
There being no further comments from the public, Mayor Maglio made a motion to close this portion to the public seconded by Committeeman Heigis.
There being no further business to discuss, Committeeman Pagano made a motion to adjourn seconded by Committeeman Heigis and unanimously carried. The meeting was adjourned at 8:22 p.m.
