Walpack Township Committee Meeting Minutes:

January 27, 2009

  The meeting of the Walpack Township Committee was called to order at 8 p.m. by Mayor Fuller who stated this meeing was being held in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act having been duly advertised.

Present were:  Mayor Fuller and Deputy Mayor Maglio

Absent:  Committeeman Heigis

Also in attendance:  Michelle LaStarza, Virigina Fuller, William Flammer

The minutes of the January 2, 2009 meeting were presented for approval.  Deputy Mayor Maglio made a motion to approve the minutes seconded by Mayor Fuller.

Mayor Fuller made a motion to approve the vouchers for payment seconded by Deputy Mayor Maglio.  The following bills were approved for payment:

Mayor Fuller made a motion to approve the Firefighting Agreement in the amount of $2,500 a year with Sandyston Township seconded by Deputy Mayor Maglio.  Mayor Fuller signed the Firefighting Service Agreement with Sandyston Township Volunteer Fire Department for the year 2009.  

Ordinance 2009-01 an ordinance for regulation of recycling was read by Mayor Fuller.  Mayor Fuller made a motion to approve the ordinance seconded by Deputy Mayor Maglio.  The ordinance will be advertised and have a public hearing at the next monthly meeting to be held February 24, 2009.

Ordinance 2009-02 an ordinance to exceed the municipal budget appropriation limits and to establish a cap bank was read by Mayor Fuller.  Mayor Fuller made a motion to approve the ordinance seconded by Deputy Mayor Maglio.  The ordinance will be advertised and have a public hearing at the next monthly meeting to be held February 24, 2009.

The committee reviewed the correspondence.

Mayor Fuller signed the annual Fire Prevention Report submitted by William Flammer Fire Official.  The report will be sent to the State. 

There being no further business and no one in attendance, Deputy Mayor Maglio made a motion to adjourn seconded by Mayor Fuller.  The meeting was adjourned at 8:20 p.m.
