The clerk informed the committee on the interest of voting by mail in ballot. Ms. Marge McCabe, Sussex County Board of Elections, investigated the possibility and responded. The state requires each district to have at least one voting machine for handicapped accessibility, so it makes no sense for Walpack to go to paper ballots.

The committee received a quote from Jack O’Krepky for preparing the mandatory adoption of the NJDEP-Proposed Flood Damage Ordinance. The state is requiring the Township to adopt an ordinance adopting mapping of the flood areas in Walpack as a condition under the National Flood Insurance Program. Mr. O’Krepky proposal states he will produce the ordinance, correspond with the DEP and provide 24x36 prints of all 13 panels in the sum of $920. Committeeman Pagano made a motion to accept the proposal seconded by Committeeman Heigis and unanimously carried.

The committee authorized Michelle LaStarza to cancel the long distance phone bill with Sprint in a savings of $8 per month. Ms. LaStarza stated there was a request by the electric company to disconnect the fire department building electric as it is not in use.

The committee reviewed the correspondence.

There being no one in attendance and no further business to discuss, Committeeman Heigis made a motion to adjourn seconded by Committeeman Pagano. The meeting was adjourned at 8:18 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Betsy M. Cuneo
Municipal Clerk
