Walpack Township Committee Meeting Minutes:
September 25, 2012
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Maglio who stated this meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act having been duly
advertised.
Present were: Committeeman Heigis, Committeeman Pagano and Mayor Maglio
Also in attendance: Michelle LaStarza
The minutes of the August 28, 2012 meeting were presented for approval. Committeeman Heigis made a motion to approve the minutes seconded by Committeeman Maglio and unanimously carried.
The committee reviewed the treasurer’s report and vouchers. Committeeman Heigis made a motion to approve the report and vouchers seconded by Committeeman Pagano and unanimously carried. The following bills were approved for payment:

The township tax collector notified the committee that she must be removed from the pension system because she is not allowed to be a multiple user. Michelle LaStarza, CFO, stated she could be taken out of the system.
Committeeman Pagano will contact removal companies for the two abandoned tanks located near the old firehouse.
Mayor Maglio stated communication has been opened up for possible response of mutual aid between ambulance squads.
Michelle LaStarza presented the Best Practices paperwork. The committee reviewed the paperwork. Mayor Maglio made a motion to approve the Best Practices seconded by Committeeman Pagano and unanimously carried.
Mayor Maglio read the following resolution into the record:
Resolution of the Township of Walpack
Fireworks Display
BE IT RESOLVED by the Township Committee of the Township of Walpack that permission is granted to Celebration Fireworks 3249 Militia Road Kutztown, PA 19530 to hold a fireworks display at the Walpack Inn on Thursday October 11, 2012 between the hours of 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. There is no rain date scheduled.

Committeeman Pagano made a motion to approve the resolution seconded by Committeeman Heigis and unanimously carried.
The committee reviewed the correspondence.
There being no one in attendance and no further business to discuss, Committeeman Pagano made a motion to adjourn seconded by Committeeman Heigis. The meeting was adjourned at 8:31 p.m.
