Walpack Township Committee Meeting Minutes:
May 28, 2013
The
meeting was called to order at 8 p.m. by Mayor Maglio who stated this meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act having been duly advertised.
Present were: Mayor Maglio, Committeeman Heigis
Also in attendance: Michelle LaStarza, Craig Hutchenson, Kathy Kane, Janina Wycalek
Mayor Maglio made a motion to amend the agenda seconded by Committeeman Heigis. After a brief discussion Mayor Maglio made a motion to appoint Janina Wycalek to fill the vacated seat of Russell Pagano that will expire December 31, 2013. The clerk administered the oath of office. All welcomed Committeewoman
Wycalek.
Representatives from Kittatinny Regional High School came forward to present the budget to the committee. Craig Hutchenson and Kathy Kane gave an informative presentation to the committee. Mr. Hutchenson explained the challenges for budget preparations keeping a 2% levy cap. Two major budget expenses are salary and health benefits. The board would like to complete two major projects regarding school safety by installing cameras and adding a foyer.
The committee thanked Mr. Hutchenson and Ms. Kane for attending the meeting.
The minutes of the April 30, 2013 meeting were presented for approval. Committeeman Heigis made a motion to approve the minutes seconded by Mayor Maglio and unanimously carried.
The committee reviewed the treasurer’s report and vouchers. Committeeman Heigis made a motion to approve the report and vouchers seconded by Committeewoman Wycalek and unanimously carried. The following bills were approved for payment:

Mayor Maglio read the Annual ABC Renewal. Mayor Maglio made a motion to approve the resolution seconded by Committeewoman Wycalek. Committeeman Heigis abstained as it is a conflict license.
TOWNSHIP OF WALPACK
Resolution
WHEREAS, James Heigis, a member of the Corporation, Walpack Inn Inc. is a member of the Walpack Township Committee, the issuing authority, the renewal for the year commencing July 1, 2013 must be filed with the Director of the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control, (N.J.A.C. 13:2-4)
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Township Committee of the Township Committee of the Township of Walpack, that there is no objection to the issuance of Plenary Retail Consumption License No. 1923-33-003-003 applied for by Walpack Inn Inc. Route 615 Walpack, New Jersey, by the Director, as they are not aware of any circumstance or provision of Law or Local Ordinance which would prohibit the issuance of said license.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution is a true and exact copy of the resolution adopted by the Walpack Township Committee, held on May 28, 2013.

There being no one in attendance and no further business to discuss, Committeeman Heigis made a motion to adjourn seconded by Committeewoman Wycalek. The meeting was adjourned at 8:47 p.m.
