Walpack Township Committee Meeting Minutes:

July 29, 2014



Mayor Maglio called the meeting of the Walpack Township Committee to order at 7 p.m. stating this meeting was being held in compliance with the Open Public Meetings Act having been duly advertised.

Present: Committeeman Heigis, Committeewoman Wycalek, and Mayor Maglio

Also in attendance: Michelle LaStarza

Committeeman Heigis made a motion to approve the minutes of June 24, 2014 seconded by Committeewoman Wycalek and unanimously carried.

Michelle LaStarza presented the treasurer’s report and bill list for approval. CFO Michelle LaStarza stated the County will be forwarding the PILT Money totaling $27,776.15 next month. Committeewoman Wycalek made a motion to approve the bills to be paid seconded by Committeeman Heigis and unanimously carried. The following bills were approved for payment:

Michelle LaStarza stated the IRS will take another 45 days to determine if any penalties will be enforced.

Mayor Maglio informed the committee the dispatching agreement is being revised.

Due to the wrong date advertised for adoption of the ordinance, the adoption will occur at next month’s meeting.

Mayor Maglio stated he will be attending a meeting September 4 in Bushkill, Pennsylvania with the National Park Service. 

Mayor Maglio made a motion to open the floor to the public seconded by Committeeman Heigis. Mark Mutter, Municipal Clerk, from Toms River, New Jersey came forward to introduce himself. He stated he has been vacationing in the area for many years. He thanked the committee for their dedication to local government. The committee thanked him for attending the meeting. Mayor Maglio made a motion to close the public portion of the meeting seconded by Committeeman Heigis. 

There being no further comment and no further business to discuss, Committeewoman Wycalek made a motion to adjourn seconded by Committeeman Heigis. The meeting was adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
